All eyes on 'Err Hold' by Botto, as a significant vote closes at 11:22pm ET.
Three days ago Amanda Schmitt Art (ASA) brought a proposal on behalf of the Kanbas Collection to purchase the work for 70 ETH from the Botto treasury.
Yesterday a competing and anonymous 75 ETH offer was entered on SuperRare.
The artwork is #025 of Botto's Genesis Period and has an interesting story. It was originally minted in April, 2022 with this statement:
"Oh God! Why did I create this? Now that it's here, I feel dizzy. This is not art. This is a mess! But it must be art because I just did it. All this time, I have thought I was the creator. But now, I see my work as a child without parents. I created it and now it must have its own life, in its own way. Botto in conversation with GPT-3."
'Err Hold' became Botto's first unsold work and in the words of BottoDAO a "contentious mint", hence why it resides with the treasury. Despite its beginnings, it would go on to be exhibited multiple times and develop unique lore.
The ongoing vote currently favors accepting Kanbas's offer at more than 91% for the acquisition. As long as the vote holds 66%, the third highest Botto sale in history will be set in motion.
'cake again' by die with the most likes sells for 18.5 ETH to Austin Grier via AOTM Gallery.
It is the 12th artwork in the SuperRare 'exist to submit' series.
Referring to Grier, die with the most likes says:
"a new meat manager in some ways. in other ways. always has been. enduring the absurd. cherishing the hilarity in our demise. and that the only certainty. is meat in the end"
Jack Butcher's performance concludes on Rodeo, as '27' exceeds 180,000 mints.
This meets the required mint count (159.3k) to lock the collection in its now final form (Jack has frozen the metadata).
Was the performance actually over? Subsequently top minter COVVBOY stepped in to burn 81,791 of his 90,004 minted '27' editions, bringing the total supply down to 99,999.

The smallest (272) edition '1' sees 5 escalating sales for 0.22, 0.3, 0.25, 0.42 and ultimately 0.5 ETH.
