'X. Masquerade' by Sam Spratt is collected by Kanbas for $3,000,000 USD, marking the largest digital art primary 1/1 sale in 3 years.
It is Spratt's 10th 1-of-1 artwork, begins the 6th Chapter of Luci, and is soon to become the centerpiece of a participatory experience built with Nifty Gateway.
Spratt goes beyond price and discusses a deeper level of patronage from Kanbas:
"An explicit path to support Masquerade's now in-the-works exhibitions (Yes, IRL Masquerade is coming). Financing for a documentary about my work and the people in my life. Collection of 13 Masks to gift and onboard people outside of our digital art movement they want to share this story with.
But really: a commitment to the journey and providing freedom to aid its pathfinding.”

In a way, the month-plus Sam Spratt Masquerade rollout brings 24 Hours of Art full circle. As 24 Hours began in August 2023, so too did Sam Spratt's Monument Game.
