"I've been responding to the platform constraints of Rodeo through a collection of 26 pieces capturing its dynamics" says Jack Butcher.
First, he surprised with a metadata update that replaced 26 original artworks (left) with the same Checks image.
Next, a second metadata update ushered in a 3x9 grid of new images (right) telling "the story of an expanding network".
Finally, he issued a 27th token with a challenge. If its mints exceed 159,300 (the total number of mints across the first 26 tokens), the network becomes permanent. If its mints fall short, each reverts to its original.
'27' is minted 133,400 times (covvboy accounts for a massive 90,004 of them) with a 12:00pm ET close. It'll come down to the wire!
Monday, January 13:
'PXL DEX' by Kim Asendorf: 1/1/256 collection, Monday 1 ETH each public phase, website URL coming soon
Nothing like an exciting finish line to kick off a weekend. I'd think with covvboy being willing to mint 90,004 of '27', it's likely someone(s) tip this mint over the magic 159,300 number. Let's see.
Have an inspired weekend everyone!
Today Reported:
Sales thresholds of (USD) $10k+ Collection, $1k+ 1/1, $2.5k+ 1/1/X, and $1k+ Edition artworks
Under threshold and interesting to me is 'Guts and then the Bloom.' by Giant Swan selling for 0.25 WETH to TheAnalyst on OpenSea. The artwork was originally minted in January, 2020 via SuperRare.
The ninth ART of 2025 is an all-in homage to Jack Butcher's checks takeover on Rodeo.
