Let’s check in on the recently launched ‘OpenSea Flagship Collection’, a $1,000,000 USD commitment by the brand to “acquiring, curating, and celebrating digital art and culture”.

The collection will continue to expand over the next months, with a target of an artwork every few days.

Strategic Punks:
Momentum is with Rhynotic’s PunkStrategy. The innovative “Perpetual Punk Machine” takes 10% of token trading fees, acquires a CryptoPunk when the pool is big enough, lists it at 1.2x of acquisition price, and uses sale ETH to buy and burn its token supply. ‘CryptoPunk #4420’ has just been bought as PunkStrategy’s third overall within a week.

Beeple Does Toledo:
Privately collected artwork ‘TRANSIENT BLOOM’ by Beeple is unveiled at Toledo Museum of Art and the artist also sits down outdoors for a live, projected Everyday. He draws inspiration from TMA painting ‘A Child in Ecclesiastical Dress’, otherwise known as “The Ugly Dog”, by Spanish artist Juan Bautista Martinez del Mazo. Beeple delivers ‘BLOCK (CHAIN) PARTY’, including several digital art references and possibly his own Ugly Dog in spirit, a CryptoDickbutt.

[L] ‘Bitcoin Bull - Silver’ /10 by Trevor Jones: 2 ETH
Minted in July 2020 with Nifty Gateway, the ‘Bitcoin Bull’ series is often credited as an inflection point in digital art. The series is comprised of a 1/1 Bull, as well as /3 Gold, /10 Silver, and /25 Bronze editions. Collector Mysterio add the Silver edition to his previously acquired Bronze.

In a previous 24 Hours of Art story entitled ‘Beeple and The Bull’, Beeple had this to say: “People very much forget about the Trevor Jones bull piece. That was a big what the fuck moment for everybody. That bull piece was like the most iconic NFT.”

“An enriched with death whale in a sea of fidenza” reads the artwork description of this November 2021 mint by Darkfarms. Granneberg is the collector, adding to an already strong collection of Darkfarms works, including multiple other ‘enriched with death’ 1/1s.
