Immaterial Artwork

Digital Zone of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility, Series 5, Edition 76. (Wrapped)’ by Mitchell F. Chan sells for 8.5 ETH to overeXposed via Gondi.

“The Digital Zone of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility is an idea. It’s a way of thinking about the connections between art, and value, and blockchain.” - Mitchell F. Chan

Inspired by Yves Klein’s Zones of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility, Digital Zones explores the separation of artwork commodity and artwork experience and how this may change a collector’s relationship with the art. Here is Chan’s 33 page essay accompanying the release.

The artworks were first minted on August 30, 2017 as ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum at InterAccess in Toronto. Wrappers were later introduced to accommodate current marketplace and token standards.
