Historical Block

On a historical night at Sotheby’s, ‘Block 1 (24.9472° N, 118.5979° E)’ by Robert Alice closes for $762,000 USD in the Now & Contemporary Evening Auction.

It is 1 of the 40 ‘Portraits of a Mind’ collection, created by Robert Alice in 2019 and numbered from Block 0 to Block 39, with each including both unique physical and digital works. The collection holds the distinction of being the first NFT sold at a major auction house (Christie’s in October 2020).

Closing just hours earlier was ‘Bildnis Elisabeth Lederer (Portrait of Elisabeth Lederer)’ by Gustav Klimt, achieving the second highest result in art auction history at $236.4M USD. It eclipses ‘Shot Sage Blue Marilyn’ by Andy Warhol ($195M USD) and sits behind ‘Salvator Mundi’ by Leonardo da Vinci ($450.3M USD).

Ripcache Relic

relic_01’ by ripcache sells for $125,000 USD to Rhynotic via Heft Gallery.

The collector acquires both a unique on-chain Ethereum NFT and 4 meter square oil painting on canvas.

The artwork debuts tonight as part of ‘WATCHING’, ripcache’s solo exhibition at Heft. Robert Alice will also be in attendance for a precursor ‘On NFTs’ book signing.

Yatreda in Motion

The ‘Kibir’ Collection by Yatreda sells out three editioned artworks with Nguyen Wahed.

The black and white motion portraits are “unified under the theme Kibir - those who are honored and those who bestow glory”.

Exhibited at Paris Photo 2025 as part of a solo presentation, the editions of 5 sell for $3,000 USD each to collectors including iancr, MrMerge, TwinFlames, and WAPSHOP.
