‘Bösendorfer’ by Alpha Centauri Kid is revealed, the product of a $200,000 USD commission from Adam Weitsman.

The accompanying 20 foot wide and 8 foot tall physical - printed on a swissQprint Kudu flatbed press in the artist’s ChromaSculpt - has a specific destination.

Via Adam Weitsman:
“I’m very grateful to collect this new personal commission from ACK today that began more than seven months ago. He had complete creative freedom with this incredible work and the monumental physical will soon be displayed at the Carl Sagan Art Residence project.”

Alpha Centauri Kid reflects on the creative process, referencing inspiration drawn from Dune and “the bones of a Bösendorfer grand, gold and ivory set into cracked obsidian”.

“…it needed immense gravity. something you could get lost in. iteration after iteration, i finally found what i'd been searching for. a beast that had been calling me all along, waiting to be brought to life.”

‘Sketchbook A #64’ by William Mapan has been acquired by the V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum in London), announces Leyla Fakhr, Artistic Director of Solos Gallery.

Announced in tandem are a handful of Mapan works - ‘Sketchbook A #55’, ‘Sketchbook B #60’, and ‘Études’ #336, #337 and #360 - acquired together by Arab Bank Switzerland.

The three William Mapan series, all released via Solos, span October 2023 (Sketchbook A, 1/1/64) to May 2025 (Sketchbook B, 1/1/64 and Études 1/1/360).
