‘Simplified Encryption’ by Sam Spratt sells for $400,000 USDC to Randy Little.

The deal takes place via Gondi and utilizes purchase bundler functionality, as the Skull initiates a new $180,000 USDC principal loan at 16% APR over a full year.

Artist Sam Spratt welcomes the collector and newest Council member with a preview of his artwork “in the new home for Luci”.

In January 2022, Mario Klingemann minted ‘The Garden of Eternal Ephemera’, 143 still frames reinterpreting ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ by Hieronymus Bosch. The collection was created for an exhibition through the artworks of Colección SOLO at Matadero, Madrid. #62 is acquired by Frank Flux for 900 XTZ ($533 USD).

Editioned artwork of 10 - ‘AI The Birth of Aphrodite’ by Von Doyle - is collected for 250 XTZ ($130 USD) by Delronde2. Minted in May 2021, it is described as the artist’s “AI Generated Nude Portrait #4” and includes this quote from Euripides: “For she, terror-inspiring, breathes on all things, and flits like a honeybee.”

‘Uninhabitable’ by Iskra Velitchkova sees a sale for 215 XTZ ($114 USD). The 2021 minted 350 artwork collection is based on a generative system built entirely from ellipses. The artist describes it as “part of my continuing interest on understanding the -usually- crazy paths of machines' way of thinking.”

Today OONA continues her ‘Dear David’ series, curated by The Second-Guess. ‘We’re Alone Now’ releases at 12:00pm ET via objkt and includes 14 artworks. The collection “is framed as a love letter to a CCTV operator”, exploring the history of surveillance and “intimacy, archiving, and power”.

One of my favorite talks in recent memory is live for all!

At Art Blocks Marfa this past October, Mitchell F. Chan gave a talk entitled “5 Perfect Artworks”, presented by OpenSea.

I described it afterwards as being an ideal mindset for appreciating, evaluating, and ultimately communicating art. It’s especially relevant here in “the space”, as many are coming in fresh and learning on the fly. Mitch has a way of being both rooted in experience and dropping pretention, unlocking others to think for themselves.
