Corporeal Deal

‘Corporeal Translucence’ by Sam Spratt enters the Pella Collection from Casey in a private deal.

It marks the third 1/1/50 ‘Skulls of Luci’ plus associated 1/1/613 ‘Masks of Luci’ pairing to change hands this week.

Collector Benji says “The long hunt is finally over”, thanking Eli Scheinman and Redbeard for assistance with the deal.

Sam Spratt reflects on the Skull and its past and present:

Originally, it was a gift to Casey, who at the time worked at SuperRare and onboarded the artist, helping him navigate the new world. “Casey will always be the one who was there before any metric muddled the reason to care.”

Now, it moves to Benji, and Spratt details a “shared memory” and meaningful studio visit. “For Rachel and I, while we are heads down making a body of work that unsettles us and excites us but demands unknown time to accomplish, it means a great deal to have this kind of support from long term people in the quiet process of making work we want to leave behind ourselves.”
